Longines

Longines are one of our favourite brands. Founded in 1832, it moved to its current location in 1867. The brand has been awarded more observatory Grand Prizes for accuracy than any other manufacturer. The quality is outstanding, the designs innovative and elegant, and the value for money excellent. During the 70's and 80's, like so many brands, Longines struggled against the tide of cheap battery watches, and was absorbed into what became the swatch group. They have a great pride in their history, however, and their heritage range is one of their best selling (a Heritage Conquest was the first Swiss watch I ever bought, if only I'd known I could have bought an original instead!). Their original, pre- 1970's in house timepieces are very collectable, and the potential for investment very good.
